A .577/450 MARTINI HENRY RIFLE MARK I/II SERVICE RIFLE, no visible serial number, dated 1874 for the donor Mark I, with 29 3/4 in. sighted barrel with military proof and inspection marks, receiver bridge stamped 'S - X' for Strengthened Extractor, receiver stamped with queen's crown above 'V R' above 'ENFIELD' above '1874' above lock-viewer's mark above off-set 'II' with inspection marks over, wooden stock, barrel cut down with replacement fore-sight, barrel band a replacement, butt a replacement without markings and a blank brass butt-disc fitted, stock varnished, missing its cleaning rod and sling swivels, 46 1/2 in. overall length
